A baby who was just one year old drowned in a well after following his mother to the bathroom.
On December 3,2022, police got a report from Alice Tembo, age 28, of Kakubo village, who stated that her son, Blessings Daka, age one year and three months, perished in a well. According to police assistant public relations officer Godfrey Chilabi.
When police arrived on the scene, according to Mr. Chilabi, they were able to rescue the youngster, who was later declared dead when they arrived at the Chongwe District Hospital.
According to preliminary investigations, Alice Tembo, the mother, left the infant alone in the house on December 3, 2022, at around 5:00 a.m. The baby was not in the house when she returned. She began looking for the child, and with the assistance of neighbors, it was found that the child had fallen into a well.
According to him, it’s believed that the infant fell into the well while following the mother outside.
According to Mr. Chilabi, the child’s body has been placed in the Chongwe District Hospital Mortuary in anticipation of the autopsy.
An inquiry file, according to him, has since been opened.
