Investigative reporting offers checks and balances, according to KALUNGA

Investigative journalism, according to Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Media KENNEDY KALUNGA, is essential in a setting where the need for reliable and verified information is essential.

According to Mr. KALUNGA, investigative reporting offers checks and balances by exposing corruption and other vices that impede the nation’s advancement.

According to him, the rise of contemporary technology, including social media, has made people more susceptible to false information.

After serving as the master of ceremonies at the Free Press Initiative – FPI – and BBC Media Action Project’s exhibition of investigative journalism in Lusaka, Mr. Kalunga spoke with ZNBC News.
