The Itezhi-Tezhi-Mongu Junction road will be rehabilitated across a 38-kilometer stretch utilizing Constituency Development Funds, as approved by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
TWAAMBO MUTINTA, a member of parliament from Itezhi-Tezhi, claims that the ministry’s clearance will facilitate construction on the problematic section of the road, which has been in a terrible condition for a number of years.
In an interview in Lusaka, Mr. MUTINTA stated that the contractor will arrive on site after the rainy season to begin work on the road connecting the district to the Lusaka-Mongu road once all procurement procedures were completed.
He claimed that the 115-kilometer Itezhi-Tezhi – Mongu Junction Road is a commercially feasible route used by tourists traveling to the Itezhi-Tezhi Dam and Kafue National Park.
Residents of Itezhi-Tezhi have been guaranteed by Mr. Mutinta that the entire stretch of road will be tarred once sufficient funding has been provided by the government.
