Traders in Lusaka’s City market have begun to return to their booths.
Of the 2,300 confirmed merchants, 500 have already moved in.
The screening of vendors will continue, according to Lusaka Mayor CHILANDO CHITANGALA, until all stands are occupied.
According to Ms. CHITANGALA, the local government followed protocol when screening those who entered the market.
She is worried about several street merchants who have stands inside the market but are hesitant to come back.
