Lusaka CBD Is A High Risk Area For Cholera

The central business district has been labeled as a high-risk area for the cholera epidemic by the Lusaka City Council.

This, according to Council Director for Public Health Victor Kagoli, is a result of poor hygienic conditions.

He claims that despite the low prevalence of hand washing techniques, some people have persisted to urinate in public.

However, according to Mr. Kagoli, the regional government has begun sanitizing international buses arriving from Malawi and the Eastern Province, where cholera cases have been reported.

According to him, the council is also keeping an eye on high-risk areas including the Kanyama, Bauleni, and Garden compounds.
