The government has been urged to build more stroke rehabilitation units at healthcare facilities by several stroke survivors in Lusaka.
Authorities must make stroke facilities and services available and cheap for survivors, according to SAVIOR HANUMWIINGA, one of the survivors who had her first stroke at the age of 18.
The severity of stroke should not be understated, according to another survivor who also happens to be a doctor, because it can result in death or permanent impairment if not treated properly.
While this is going on, PHANUEL MABOLA, the executive director of the National Stroke Aid, has urged government agencies and non-governmental organizations to work together to address the problems that stroke survivors experience.
