Mpongwe Records High Cases Of Malaria

Malaria incidences have been particularly prevalent in youngsters and pregnant women in the Mpongwe district.

When a team from the Zambia Flying Doctor Service performed a health outreach in the Ntanda neighborhood of Mpongwe in the Copperbelt, this was discovered.

90 percent of the 728 patients the medical team has so far treated have malaria, according to ZFDS Medical Officer Dr. MULENGA CHILAMBWE.
The neighborhood is currently struggling with a dearth of mosquito nets and a paucity of crucial medications.

Also, the locals are pleading with the government to increase the facility’s capacity in order to provide top-notch basic healthcare. The distance to the closest mission hospital is roughly 76 kilometers.
