Mwiimbu Worries About Police Road Blockages

JACK MWIIMBU, the minister of home affairs and internal security, is worried that some traffic police officers have persisted in causing unwarranted obstacles to vehicles and members of the public despite being warned not to.

Mr. MWIIMBU has reinforced his order that only the specified security checkpoints should be used for mounting traffic blocks by police officers.

He regrets that the illegal barriers have brought shame upon the nation.

Mr. MWIIMBU claims that while the government has not permitted people to disregard traffic laws, authorities can nevertheless execute the laws without putting up unnecessary barriers.

When the Minister visited Pemba Police Station to understand the difficulties it was facing, he was speaking.

Mr. MWIIMBU is visiting Southern Province to understand the difficulties that the institutions that fall under his ministry are dealing with.
