In light of an impending animal illness outbreak, Namwala Constituency Member of Parliament MOONO MAPANI has pleaded with the government to supply animal immunizations there as soon as possible.
According to Mr. MAPANI, livestock that is stranded in flooded areas as a result of the floods that have affected Namwala District would need vaccinations.
In the Namwala District, cattle ranchers run the risk of losing their animals, he continued, if preventative steps are not taken.
Furthermore, Mr. MAPANI urged the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit-DMMU to prepare for the supply of food aid to Namwala, where the majority of farmers had lost their crop fields to flooding.
He also urged other parties to work with the government and assist families in his constituency who had been affected by flooding.
