Passenger Service Suspended By Tazara

Due to an accident that occurred in Mpika, Muchinga province, TAZARA has suspended passenger train services.

According to reports, the accident damaged the rail tracks.

A TAZARA rescue Crane was involved in the disaster, which happened on April 10, 2023, on a Monday.

The immediate suspension of passenger services has been verified by TAZARA’s Head of Public Relations, CONRAD SIMUCHILE, in a statement.

Between Mpika and the Sabwa area, the damaged part, according to Mr. SIMUCHILE, has been closed to allow for repairs.

He has clarified that the corporation wants to quickly rebuild the train track.
