Professor Kasanda: New School Curriculum Must Be Current

SICHALWE KASANDA, an educationalist, has asked those involved in the revision of the school curriculum to make sure it is pertinent to the country.

According to Professor KASANDA, education should impart knowledge and alter students.

Additionally, he has recommended the stakeholders to design an educational system that emphasizes learner quality rather than merely getting better marks.

According to Professor Kasanda, the new curriculum must give students analytical abilities that will support sustainable development and a knowledge of value systems.

According to the Secondary School Teachers Union of Zambia (SESTUZ), some of the problems with the existing curriculum are caused by a lack of adequate resources.

According to CHRISTINE LUNGU, director of public relations for SESTUZ, students need to have access to career pathways in the new school curriculum.
