The Karan Meanwood Service Station in the Chongwe District has had its retail sales of petroleum products halted by the Energy Regulatory Board (ERB).
This comes after allegations of water tainting of gasoline at the gas station.
According to NAMUKOLO KASUMPA, the ERB’s public relations manager, the board has subsequently launched investigations in response to complaints from consumers who refueled from the retail location between February 15 and February 25, 2023.
Ms. KASUMPA said in a statement to ZNBC News today that all retailing of petroleum products at the location has been immediately suspended because of an investigation into the quality of the goods being sold to the general public.
