The National Heart Hospital: Nucleus For Medical Tourism

The National Heart Hospital has begun receiving patients from other nations, including Zimbabwe and Malawi, as a result of the facility’s superior medical techniques.

The facility contains skilled medical workers, some of whom have returned to Zambia from other countries where they were working, according to hospital Senior Medical Superintendent CHABWELA SHUMBA.

Dr. SHUMBA told ZNBC News that some of the facility’s complicated cardiac operations are saving the nation money by preventing some patients with cardiovascular issues from having to fly abroad for specialized care.

He said that the hospital had performed 15 open heart procedures to date.

And KEBBY KYAKILIKA, a doctor from Zambia who performed an open heart surgery with US surgeons, claimed he gained fresh knowledge that will help the nation’s provision of specialized healthcare.
