Tourism Permanent Secretary EVANS MUHANGA Call on stakeholders to work together

EVANS MUHANGA, the permanent secretary for tourism, has urged all parties to cooperate to advance responsible conservation hunting across the nation.
According to Mr. Muhanga, hunting for conservation purposes is necessary since wildlife in Zambia contributes significantly to the state coffers.

Addressing at a stakeholder workshop on how to effectively implement sustainable conservation hunting in Zambia, Mr. MUHANGA urged an end to harmful, non-ecological activities.

The Department of National Parks and Wildlife -DNPW- Acting Director ANDREW CHOMBA stated that since the removal of the hunting suspension in 2015, the Department’s approach to trophy hunting has been based on a cautious, low-quota system that is below the standards for sustainability.
