Zambia Is Excited To Grow Wheat In Wetlands

According to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, the administration would use networks across Africa to discover the finest methods for cultivating wheat in the numerous marshes spread around the nation.

Wetlands in Zambia, according to President HICHILEMA, have long been underutilized.

The President made this statement while presiding over a meeting with development partners outside of the Dakar 2 Summit, where Zambia promoted its investment opportunities.

Additionally, President HICHILEMA stated that the administration aims to use strategies to cut down on waste while distributing fertilizer that has been subsidised under the Fertilizer Support Programme (FISP).

Solomon Quaynor, vice president for the private sector, infrastructure, and industry at the African Development Bank, praised Zambia for being self-sufficient in the production of wheat and maize.

According to Mr. QUAYNOR, Zambia requires a small amount of assistance to increase its production of wheat and maize for the continent’s export market.
