At the Lundazi police station, thirteen suspects who were in jail under the law have escaped.
According to police deputy public relations officer DANNY MWALE, the suspects fled from detention yesterday about 04:30.
According to Mr. MWALE, after detaining a suspect at roughly 4:30 a.m., an officer left one of the cell doors unlocked, which the detainees who are facing various offenses exploited.
He claims that the suspects shoved the officer and then ran off.
Mr. MWALE has pleaded with the public to help the police by providing them with information that can result in the arrest of the suspects so that they can be charged once more with eluding lawful custody.
Police have subsequently started a manhunt for the individuals, he told ZNBC News.
