A 19-year-old male is accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl from the Samfya district after dragging the victim into the jungle and having carnal knowledge of her.
After the victim’s mother reported the incident to the police, the culprit, identified as Emmanuel Kunda of Musaila village, was captured.
Gloria Mulele, the commanding officer of Luapula province, revealed that the event occurred when the little girl was returning from Samfya beach, where she had gone with friends for a fun-filled day.
According to Ms. Mulele, the suspect went to the beach with her pals and found at 8:00 p.m. that they had abandoned her.
“The victim left home in the company of her friends to Samfya beach to have fun. Around 18:00 hours she realized that all her friends had left her and she started going back home alone while on her way home she met Mr Kunda who stopped her and dragged her into a nearby bush along the road and defiled,”she said.
Ms Mulele said the incident happened on December 25,2022 and was reported to the police on December 29,2022.
