90 days for corruption cases to be heard in court – HH

According to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, judicial matters involving corruption would now be resolved in 90 days.

According to President HICHILEMA, the government has put policies and procedures in place to make sure that corruption matters are resolved quickly and completely.

The President claims that one action to improve the administration of justice is the recent nomination of judges to the High Court and the Financial Crimes Court.

He claims that the Financial Crimes Court will also have special hearing rooms for expedited trials of corruption cases.

The President continues by saying that in order to strengthen the fight against vice, the management and leadership structure of the investigative wings is also being reviewed.

According to the head of state, corruption in government is a major factor in the recent slowdown in the nation’s economy.

Because they have dealt with corruption more forcefully, several nations with lesser economies are now performing better than Zambia, according to the president.

The judiciary, the legislature, and the media should collaborate to fight corruption to the fullest extent possible, according to President HICHILEMA.

When speaking to the nation about the advancements made in the application of national values and principles, President HICHILEMA said this in Parliament.

The President’s speech was divided into six sections, including sections on democracy and constitutionalism, patriotism and national duty, and morality and ethics.

Human dignity, equity, social justice, equality, and nondiscrimination are other principles. Moreover, good governance, integrity, and sustainable development are others.
