“Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has applauded the arrest of Luapula Deputy Permanent Secretary ROYD MWANSA and two District Commissioners and the subsequent termination of their employment contracts.”
This will provide the government a chance to show that the fight against corruption is not directed at any one demographic, according to TIZ Executive Director MAURICE NYAMBE.
According to Mr. NYAMBE, it is important to note that efforts are being made to combat the vice and that measures are being taken even in cases of corruption involving officials working for the current government.
According to him, the government and other interested parties must work more to remedy the weaknesses that are enabling corrupt activities to continue.
He has stated to ZNBC NEWS that no organization should interfere with the suspects’ prosecution and that everyone involved in corruption is held accountable regardless of their political membership.
