Together with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) is marking World Radio Day 2023 today.
UNESCO, Channel Africa, and the Mail AND Guardian are among of the event’s additional partners.
The collaboration, according to ZNBC Head of Corporate Affairs ANNE MUKABE, is an effort by the media companies to highlight the importance of radio in delivering news and entertainment to audiences despite a number of obstacles.
And according to EUSTACE NKANDU, Director of Standards, Licensing, and Compliance at the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA), radio is a powerful means of communication that can be adapted to any community’s language and has a wider audience.
