ACC has not threatened to seize Synod offices, contrary to social media claims

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has denied a social media rumor that it has threatened to confiscate the Synod offices of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ), which are located at Plot Number 8 Mosi-oa-Tunya Road in the Woodlands neighborhood.

According to Rodgers Ng’ambi, the administrative secretary of UCZ, the church has never been contacted by ACC officers seeking information on the funding and donations made for the building of the Synod Headquarters.

“The purported story is therefore false and should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves. Further, the Church wishes to put it on record that at no point has there been a request from the ACC to have its books of accounts checked,” Mr Ng’ambi said.

According to him, the offices are still available for fruitful exchanges between the Church and its cooperating parties, including the government.

“As the UCZ leadership, we would like to thank the members for their continued support towards the realization of the mandate of growing God’s kingdom on earth through the sacrifices they make,” Mr Ng’ambi said.

He gave the people of the community the reassurance that the church would continue to be dedicated to carrying out Christ’s global mission by sharing the Good News of Salvation with the people of Zambia and all other nations.
