Accident yesterday results in death of 40-year-old man

An accident yesterday results in the death of a 40-year-old man who lost both of his legs.

After a car accident involving a Mbwe Motorways bus, a 40-YEAR-OLD guy who had both legs amputated at Chilonga Mission Hospital in Mpika passed away.

On the Great North Road, the accident occurred yesterday at approximately 10:30 a.m. near the Chipushi area.

Belinda Chisanga, the nursing officer in charge at Chilonga Mission Hospital, identified the deceased as Copperbelt resident Patrick Mutale.

While briefing the Council Chairperson, Ms. Chisanga stated that several accident victims who suffered injuries have been released and that the deceased’s body will be transported to the Copperbelt.

And Morgan Musoma, the chairman of the Mpika Council, expressed his sadness over Mr. Mutale’s passing and advised drivers to exercise additional caution on the Great North Road.

Mpika has four Christmas babies on record.

Mr. Musoma also found the time to greet the residents of the Mpika District a pleasant holiday season and prosperous new year.

The Council Chairperson was also thanked by Maureen Banda, 29, who gave birth to a baby boy at the Chilonga Mission Hospital and was given a baby hamper.

This is stated in a statement made by Mushota Mpundu, the council’s public relations officer.
