The Best Place to Work organization has awarded the prestigious Best Place to Work in Africa 2022 Award to Ecobank Group, the top pan-African bank. Organizations that uphold the highest levels of excellence in employee experience and human resources (HR) practices are recognized with the Award. The certification was initially given to Ecobank, a bank with operations throughout Africa.

Ade Ayeyemi, Chief Executive Officer, Ecobank Group, said:

“At Ecobank, we recognise that our people are our greatest asset. As a pan-African bank, we are intentional in deploying resources to attract, develop and retain the right talent. We actively provide the tools and processes to achieve a performance-driven culture and enabling environment. Receiving international recognition as being one of the Best Places to Work in Africa is a great honour. It is noteworthy that this Award would not have been possible without the support of my colleague Ecobankers.”

The certification program includes stringent evaluations and rankings based on the findings of thorough and objective evaluations conducted at various hierarchical levels and throughout HR operations and procedures. An employee assessment survey and an HR assessment are included. Covered topics include employee engagement, leadership, teamwork, salary, benefits, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Yves Mayilamene, Group Executive, Human Resources at Ecobank, commented:

“We support and empower our talent to excel in an enabling and conducive working environment while investing in their growth and wellbeing. At Ecobank, we always seek to provide our staff with opportunities to advance and achieve their full potential through our learning and development initiatives. This Best Place to Work Award is a tribute to our Ecobankers’ commitment to exhibiting and living our values, as well as creating the right corporate culture.”

The Ecobank Group received a total certification score of 79% as a result of the assessment process; a high score is one that is greater than 75%. The Best Place to Work accreditation certification is valid for one year (November 2022-November 2023).

When it comes to generating consistent long-term company performance through strong employee engagement, engaging leadership, and talent emphasis, Best Places to Work accredited organizations frequently beat the market average. Employees who work for recognized organizations are inspired, involved, and driven to give their all every day and everywhere.

During the celebration event, Peter Burke, President of Best Companies Group, extended his heartful congratulations to Ecobank by emphasising on the uniqueness of this Award that strengthens the Ecobank Employer Brand.

He added:” You are being recognised for creating workplaces where your employees love to come to work. You are the envy of all other employers. Keep up the good work.”

The Best Companies Group and Best Places to Work certifications are two of the most prestigious employer of choice programs in the world. The Best Company Group is a reputable US business that focuses on finding and honoring top employers in more than 60 different nations.

In 2022, 29 organizations recognized by Best Places to Work in Africa. These include Pharma 5, Alsa, eHealth Africa, Hilti, IHS, and Ooredoo. AstraZeneca, Dell, Nestlé, and Roche are a few international businesses with presence in Africa. They were also among the winners.

Following another big award from the Africa Best Employer Brand Awards 2022, which named Ecobank the Best Employer Brand in Africa, came the Best Place to Work in Africa Award. It recognizes the best businesses in Africa that exhibit excellent HR practices.

The judges for this Award took into account business advancement based on information that was made publicly available as well as numerous people/HR strategies, such as talent management and development, diversity and inclusion, women’s empowerment, promoting and managing workplace health, and CSR initiatives.
