The two youngsters from Mambwe District in Eastern Province who perished on Saturday in the Msandire river have had their remains recovered.

The remains were found Monday after an intensive search by a group of fire brigade officers from Mambwe Town Council, Zambia Police, and members of the community, according to provincial deputy police commanding officer LUCKY MUNKHONDYA.

When they went fishing over the weekend in the Msandire River, the deceased MAPENZI NGOMA and ELESAN NGOMA, both 15 and from the same family, met their demise.

According to Ms. MUNKONDYA, the deceased’s uncle SIMON MBAO of Pitala village in Chief Jumbe’s territory reported his death by drowning to the police.
