The Bank of Zambia (BoZ) is currently implementing an artificial intelligence (AI) system to stop the spread of counterfeit money.

The public will be able to access the system through multiple social media channels, including Facebook, WhatsApp, webchats, and SMS.

The technology will complement the currently available customer complaint channels, according to Central Bank Governor DENNY KALYALYA.

At the beginning of Financial Literacy Week in Lusaka, Dr. KALYALYA made this statement in a speech that was read for him by Deputy Governor Operations, Francis Chipimo.

Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA also stated at the same ceremony that schools will receive the new financial education supplemental materials this year.

This was said by Mr. SYAKALIMA in a speech that Ministry Permanent Secretary for Administration NORIANA MUNEKU read for him.

MIZINGA MELU, the chairperson of the Bankers Association of Zambia, stated that it is necessary to instill in people the value of having assets and making smart investments.
