The Brown Steak Disease, which has spread throughout the province and is potentially eradicating cassava, worries Chief KAPUTA of the Tabwa people of Kaputa, Northern Province.

The cassava subsector and other agricultural value chains should be explored more, according to Chief KAPUTA.

According to the traditional leader, there is room for expanding out-grower and small-scale farmer training programs in the cassava value chain.

According to Chief KAPUTA, this will further encourage local economic growth.

According to Chief KAPUTA, cassava farming has the potential to provide over 5,000 jobs in the Northern and Luapula provinces.
