A man who dragged a 10-year-old girl from Chililabombwe to a one-room residence and had sexual knowledge of her is accused of defiling her.
The woman was walking home when the incident took place, and it was on her way home that she encountered the man who defiled her.
The suspect left the scene shortly after defiling the young person.
According to Copperbelt Province Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba, if the perpetrator is spotted, the victim can recognize him.
In a statement, Mr. Mweemba stated that the event took place in the Reload area between Thursday at 19:00 and yesterday at 06:00.
“The victim was on her way home and along the way she met a man she can only identify if seen who took her by force at a one roomed house where she was undressed and the suspect had unlawful carnal knowledge of her. The juvenile managed to sneak out of the house and rushed home to explain what had happened,”he said.
He said that the juvenile’s mother had reported the incident to the police.
According to Mr. Mweemba, authorities have launched an inquiry.
Another development involves the alleged rape of a youngster in the Kansenshi township of Ndola by a member of the gang known as “The Mafia Boys.”
According to Mr. Mweemba, the 18-year-old victim is able to identify the suspect who sexually assaulted her.
He claimed that the incident took place in Maiteke Township yesterday around 11:00.
