An 11-year-old child from Lusaka’s Mtendere Township had his left arm amputated after being hospitalized after being bitten by two dogs.

The youngster was shot and injured one of the dogs in the PHI area of Benjamin Mwila Road, fortunately saving the boy who had wounds all over his body.

The 40-year-old Mungo Chingaya, who was the dogs’ owner, was detained for being a negligent pet keeper, according to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale.

Mr. Chingaya has reportedly subsequently been charged with the offense of Reckless and Negligent Actions, according to Mr. Mwale.
