Eastern Schools on High Alert for Cholera in Malawi

Due to the cholera outbreak in Malawi, authorities in the Eastern Province have put all schools close to the border on high alert.

The education officer for the Eastern Province, BRAINLEY MALAMBO, has instructed teachers to take extra precautions to stop the disease from entering Zambian schools.

According to Mr. MALAMBO, teachers should make sure that students follow cholera prevention recommendations.

At a press conference held at his Chipata headquarters, he said this.

In the meantime, the province ranked first nationally at the Grade 9 level, according to Provincial Senior Education Standards Officer in-Charge of Examinations ENESTOL MALAMBO, with a 61 point 3 percent pass rate. Copperbelt was second with a 61 point 1 percent pass rate.
