First Lady Gives Away Christmas Baby Hammers

All level one hospitals in Lusaka will receive 110 hampers from First Lady MUTINTA HICHILEMA as gifts for newborns this Christmas.

The baskets cost more than 184,000 000 Kwacha.

The festive season is a time to give and share with the community, as well as a reminder of Jesus’ compassion for humanity, said Mrs. HICHILEMA as she presented the hampers to the Ministry of Health in Lusaka today.

Mrs. HICHILEMA appreciated Stanbic Bank for stepping up and offering to help with the hamper purchase.

SYLVIA MASEBO, the minister of health, praised the First Lady for the gesture and said it would help mothers understand the value of giving birth in a medical facility.

According to Ms. MASEBO, when pregnant women give birth in medical facilities, maternal deaths are prevented.

According to her, President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA is deeply concerned about maternal mortality issues, which is why she ordered that all 3,000+ institutions in the nation have access to clean water, flushing toilets, and maternity wings.
