For social cash transfers, Copperbelt receives K290 million.

Across the Copperbelt, more than K290 million has been made available to support recipients of social cash transfers through the end of 2023.

From this sum, K49 million will be used to compensate about 88,000 households for the cycle between January and February.

The distribution of social cash transfers for the Copper belt has begun, and acting permanent secretary for the region DANIEL KAMENGA has urged careful use of the monies.

Speaking at the launch in Chililabombwe today, Mr. KAMENGA issued a warning that the government will not put up with any misuse of funds intended for the weak.

Mr. KAMENGA has also emphasized the necessity for recipients to responsibly use the funds to enhance their standard of living.

Additionally, Mr. Kamenga stated that the adoption of the e-pay system mechanism will guarantee accountability and prompt delivery.

Meanwhile, PRECIOUS NJEKWA, the district commissioner for Chililabombwe, reported that there are 4,873 beneficiaries in the region.

One of the recipients, SARAH NKANDU, 73, thanked the government for distributing the monies on schedule and said that she is able to provide for her family with the funds she receives.
