Government and Millennium Challenge Sign a $8.3 Million Agreement

A development grant agreement worth US$8.3 million has been struck by the government and the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) with the goal of advancing the agriculture industry.

Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE stated during the signing ceremony in Lusaka today that the grant will help Zambia increase its agricultural productivity through investments in infrastructure.

Investment in agricultural infrastructure, according to Dr. MUSOKOTWANE, will result in young job creation across the nation.

Additionally, the principal deputy vice president of MCC, KYEH KIM, expressed her confidence that the award will open doors for Zambia’s agriculture industry.

The award would help find locations to further increase agriculture, according to United States Ambassador to Zambia MICHAEL GONZALES, who also noted that Zambia is a country with a large amount of land.
