According to SYLVIA MASEBO, minister of health, the government wants to make sure that oxygen therapy is available everywhere, including in distant places.
Plans to upgrade oxygen facilities that can meet local demands and produce a more sustainable and self-sufficient oxygen supply, according to Ms. MASEBO, are already in the works.
She claims that her Ministry is also investigating potential options for solar oxygen concentrators.
Ms. MASEBO was giving a speech in Lusaka today when the World Bank group gave the Ministry of Health 18 oxygen concentrators valued more than K394,000.
Additionally, SAHR KPUNDEH, the country manager for the World Bank, stated that the bank has committed US$339 million to Zambia’s health sector as of December 2022.
