Government Concerned about Food Sales in Public Spaces

In order to stop the spread of cholera, the local authority has been urged by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, MAAMBO HAMAUNDU.

According to Mr. HAMAUNDU, the ongoing sale of food in undesignated areas of the CBD has the potential to lead to a cholera outbreak.

He advises traders without adequate locations to request placement in approved areas from the local administration.

This comes after the public was urged by the minister of health, SILVIA MASEBO, to stop purchasing food for immediate consumption from the streets.
