Government: Cultural Events Should Provide Revenue

According to the Ministry of Tourism, certain facets of tradition and culture must be developed into revenue-generating endeavors.

Cultural artifacts and regional cuisine should be promoted more, according to EVELYN MWALE, acting provincial officer for the Ministry of Tourism’s Eastern Province, in order to support local economies.

Speaking today in Chipata at the Ungoni material culture exhibition, which was organized by the Ministry of Tourism’s Directorate of Culture and Traditional Affairs.

She claimed that the Exhibition, which serves as a lead-up to the N’cwala tradition event, will encourage visitors to remain longer in the nation in the future, which will be beneficial for Chipata Town’s economy.

The display, according to Eastern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary BEAUTY PHIRI, adds value to the activities that go along with the N’cwala traditional ceremonial.

She stated this in a speech that Chitapa District Commissioner CELIDA MWANZA read on her behalf.
