Government Details Concession for Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway

The 22-year concession of the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway, whose construction and rehabilitation will be carried out under the Public Private Partnership-PPP, is anticipated to bring in over $1 billion for Zambia.

According to the PPP Act, government and the concessionaire, Macro-Ocean Investment Consortium, would split the toll fees received, according to Infrastructure & Urban Development Minister CHARLES MILUPI.

According to Mr. MILUPI, the National Pension Plan Authority (NAPSA) and Workers Compensation Fund Control Board will grant the concessionaire credit for the project.

This was expressed by him during his Ministerial Statement on the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway Rehabilitation Concession Agreement in the National Assembly.

Before Macro-Ocean Investment Consortium was chosen as a preferred bidder, according to Mr. MILUPI, a meticulous tendering process was conducted.
