Government settles TAZARA retirees’ unpaid benefits.

To pay for unpaid retirement benefits to former employees of the Tanzania Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA), the government has issued 72 million Kwacha.

Over the past fifteen years, the money has been past due.

The National Pensions Scheme Authority (NPSA) and the Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZSIC) both fall within the umbrella of pension arrears that have been paid.

FRANK TAYALI, the minister of transport and logistics, has instructed the former employees to collect their outstanding debts from the two organizations.

This is in accordance with a statement made this evening to ZNBC News by Ndubi Mvula, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics’ Public Affairs Officer.
