Haimbe: Why didn’t PF administration investigate Lawrence Bana’s murder?

According to Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE, the criminal justice system was used in an open manner to conduct the trial against former Patriotic Front Deputy Secretary General MUMBI PHIRI.

Those who claim that the government uses the law to punish its opponents must be objective, according to Mr. HAIMBE.

He has questioned whether a political motivation was involved and why the murder case was not pursued when it was perpetrated in 2019.

According to Mr. HAIMBE, the people of Zambia need to pay attention to the high court’s ruling regarding SHEBBY CHILEKWA’s conviction because it speaks volumes.

He asserts that those who want to promote a legal narrative must be accountable to Zambia’s citizens and provide an explanation for why there was a delay in the prosecution of criminal cases.

The Justice Minister told ZNBC News in Lusaka that everyone else whose life was lost in a similar situation needs to receive justice.

And according to Mr. HAIMBE, the Director of Public Prosecution has the sole authority to bring criminal cases to trial on behalf of the Zambian people.

He said that the Constitution expressly grants the DPP the authority to enter a nolle prosequi without providing any justification to anyone.
