HH: No Public Official Engaging In Corruption Will Receive Protection

According to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, he will not shield corrupt public officials.

According to HH, the government is dedicated to eliminating corruption in the system of public procurement.

Since then, he has urged law enforcement organizations to play their share in preventing corruption in the system.

This was stated in a speech delivered for him during the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day in 2022 by Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE.

MUSA MWENYE, the anti-corruption commission’s board chair, ordered officers to pursue stolen property with objectivity.

Mr. MWENYE also urged the public to use the integrity committees to report any type of corruption in a speech that was delivered on his behalf by ACC Board Vice Chairperson IREEN LAMBA.

While this is going on, UN Resident Coordinator BEATRICE MUTALI asserted that everyone has a right to fight corruption.

SAMPA KALUNGU, President of Transparency International Zambia (TIZ), praised the government for having the political will to combat corruption but asked them to hurry up with the anti-corruption policy’s finalization.
