According to EVANS MUHANGA, the Permanent Secretary for Tourism, approximately 800,000 people traveled to ZAMBIA in 2017.
Before the Covid epidemic, according to Mr. MUHANGA, Zambia was bringing in over 1.3 million tourists a year, but that number has since fallen to 500,000.
According to him, travelers from the majority of the nation’s source markets can now enter the country thanks to the amended VISA regime.
According to Mr. MUHANGA, this has aided in simplifying admission procedures and lengthening visitors’ stays, which has increased visitor spending.
He made this statement while leading the Zambian team to the Berlin, Germany-based 2023 ITB Tourism Trade Exhibition.
And DORCAS CHILESHE, Charge d’Affaires at the Zambian Embassy in Berlin, claimed that the numerous bilateral meetings and interactions that took place during this year’s ITB Travel Trade Show provided valuable insights.
This is in accordance with a statement made to ZNBC News by LUBINDA KASHEWE, the first press secretary at the Zambian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.
