ZTA Aims to Attract One Billion Travelers

Through an ambitious digital campaign that will be launched in June of this year, the Zambia Tourism Agency (ZTA) hopes to connect with one billion potential tourists worldwide.

When representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and ZTA visited the Zambian Embassy in Berlin, ZTA Chief Executive Officer MATONGO MATAMWANDI made this information public.

In order to attend the 2023 ITB Travel Trade Fair, the delegation was in Germany.

Public relations and marketing firms will be hired, according to Mr. MATAMWANDI, to bolster the campaign in all important source markets, and by January 2024, the nation’s presence on social media platforms will have greatly expanded.

Also, the Mission was tasked with ensuring that more German tourists be drawn to Zambia by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, EVANS MUHANGA.

He claimed that in order to spur economic growth and job creation, the Zambian government had included the tourism industry.

In order to develop tourism as an industry, Mr. MUHANGA said, the 2018 to 2038 Tourism Master Plan has received significant investment from the EU.

This is in line with a statement made to ZNBC News by LUBINDA KASHEWE, First Secretary Press at the Zambian Mission in Berlin, Germany.
