KCM and Mopani Need Stability, Says Numaw

President of the National Union of Miners and Allied Workers (NUMAW), SAUL SIMUJIKA, has urged the government to stabilize the Copperbelt mining sector in order to boost the local economy.

To safeguard the Copperbelt Economy, Mr. SIMUJIKA has requested that the government seek immediate assistance in reopening Mopani and Konkola Copper Mines KCM.

He was talking in Kitwe at a NUMAW leadership seminar.

According to Mr. SIMUJIKA, the KCM and Mopani Copper mines’ current condition is severely affecting the majority of the miners and contractors on the Copperbelt.
