Danger speaks out after Mampintsha’s death

Big Nuz Danger

Big Nuz’s remaining member, Danger, vows to keep the group’s name alive. Danger, whose real name is Mzingisi Ntshomela, has faced many difficulties.

Last week, he buried the second member of Big Nuz, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, and that makes him the remaining member of the trio.

The song, Ngeke, which he recorded with Mampintsha to honour the group’s other member R Mashesha, who died in 2015, healed him a little bit as it was announced as the song of the Year on Ukhozi FM on 31 December.

Danger told Daily Sun that together with DJ Tira and Babes Wodumo, they will create Big Nuz Empire.

“Big Nuz Empire will start by officially launching our latest album, also titled R Mashesha, with the hit song Ngeke that scooped Song of the Year on Ukhozi FM.

“We will tour Mzansi, launching our album in different places,” he said.

He said the main purpose of Big Nuz Empire and the album launch tour is to ensure that Big Nuz is always in people’s minds, even though he’s left alone.

“I’m happy that our song, Ngeke, won big. I will make sure that the trio’s name does not disappear.

“Although I will do my solo project, I will also dedicate my time to Big Nuz to keep its name alive.

“I’m the remaining member and the name is left with me. Big Nuz must not disappear because it has many fans,” said Danger.

Danger said that he was holding his breath when Ukhozi FM announced the Song of the Year.

“I was afraid, but I told myself that anything can happen because it all depended on the fans who voted for Song of the Year.

“Even when Mampintsha was still alive, he had high hopes that our new hit song would win the Song of the Year title,” he added.

Big Nuz last won Ukhozi FM Song of the Year in 2011 with their hit song, Serious, after they scooped it in 2010 with Umlilo.

This time around their boss DJ Tira, who was also on Ukhozi FM’s Top 10 with his hit song Sikilidi, asked his fans to be united and vote for Big Nuz and not him.
