Miles initiates legal action for contempt against PF Top Brass

MILES SAMPA, the presidential candidate for the Patriotic Front-PF, has filed a contempt complaint against four top party officials for allegedly disobeying a directive not to act in their official capacities.

They are DAVIES CHAMA, NICKSON CHILANGWA, GIVEN LUBINDA, and RAPHAEL NAKACINDA.

The two, according to Mr. SAMPA, have allegedly ignored the Exparte Injunction he received on February 9 2023 ordering them to deescalate their conflicts until further notice.

He has also argued that the four have been assuming—contrary to reality—that there is no leadership void in the PF.

According to the Exparte Notice of Application submitted to the LUSAKA High Court, this is the case.

Mr. SAMPA is at odds with the PF leadership, claiming that because previous President EDGAR LUNGU, who selected them, resigned as Part President, their posts are unconstitutional.

Articles 48 and 53 of the PF Constitution have been mentioned by him.

The Registrar of Societies has also been given a seven-day deadline by Mr. SAMPA to force the PF to hold a convention or face legal action.
