To improve tax compliance and domestic resource mobilization, the government has ordered two tax mobile office vans.
Modern mobile tax buses, according to Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- Commissioner General DINGANI BANDA, would fill the gap in places with poor access to tax administration.
Addressing at the event, Mr. BANDA remarked that while the Authority only operates in 37 areas, the mobile tax vans will increase its visibility.
Speaking at the ceremony, Acting Permanent Secretary for Budget and Economic Affairs MWAKA MUKUBESA added that the government’s strategy to enhance tax education and public service delivery includes the launch of the mobile tax vans.
The lack of ZRA offices, according to German Ambassador to Zambia Anne Mitchell, makes it harder to provide taxpaying citizens with services and lowers levels of tax compliance.
