Zambia needs to produce more maize and other commodities, according to CHIPOKA MULENGA, minister of commerce, trade, and industry, in order to meet the rising global demand for food.
Government attempts to increase trade and investment between Zambia and its neighbors, according to Mr. Mulenga, have been made. It is now up to Zambians to seize this chance.
Mr. MULENGA revealed in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka that the government has also implemented policies to aid small-scale farmers in raising productivity.
According to Mr. Mulenga, the issue of maize shortages has persisted for a number of years, but the administration is committed to finding a solution.
