Nalumango: 7 Dead In Luangwa River Accident

Once the boat they were aboard capsized, seven persons lost their lives in the Luangwa District.

Four bodies, according to Vice President Mutete Nalumango, have been found; efforts are being made to find the other three.
Mrs. NALUMANGO claims that the accident’s circumstances are still unclear because she is still awaiting more details.

In order to avert accidents, the Vice President has warned transporters not to overload their vessels.

She asserts that the government will not put up with any transporters acting carelessly while on the job.

When Mrs. NALUMANGO received a donation of 150 000 Kwacha from NATSAVE to aid families on Chilubi Island whose loved ones perished in the Bangweulu marine tragedy, which took 14 lives, she said this in Lusaka.

As the only financial institution on Chilubi Isaland, NATSAVE Chief Executive Officer MALCOLM CHABALA stated that the Bank felt obligated to lessen the burden for the Community.

The Chinese Youth Entrepreneurs Association in Zambia provided flood victims with 1,210 kilogram bags of mealie at the same event.

LIU HELING, the chairperson of the association, has urged Chinese nationals in Zambia to join forces with the government and assist it in responding to calamities around the nation.

Moreover, COSTA MWANSA, Chief Visionary Officer of Diamond Media, stated that his organization will keep working with the government to address disasters in the nation.
