Need For Housing For Correctional Service

The command in Livingstone has been advised by the Zambia Correctional Service Commission to contact the appropriate parties to secure land for the construction of the 149 staff residences.

This is a portion of the government’s plan to build 2,000 homes across the nation for the Zambia Correctional Service.

The project’s site needs to be acquired, according to EVARISTO KALONGA, chair of the Correctional Service Commission, who led a commission delegation on a familiarization visit of Southern Province.

Also, as of February 21, 2023, the service had 745 inmates under its custody, according to Livingstone Station Officer In-Charge Senior Superintendent CORNEWELL MUDENDA.

The facility is doing well in the production section, which includes pig farming, poultry farming, fish farming, gardening, tailoring, and carpentry, according to Mr. MUDENDA.
