The government is in the process of selling the Gulfstream Presidential jet and replacing it with a different model with comparable specifications, according to Defence Minister AMBROSE LUFUMA.

The sale of the Presidential Jet, according to Mr. LUFUMA, is the result of its underutilization because it has been stored in the hangar even when undergoing routine repairs.

This was said by Mr. LUFUMA in a ministerial address to the National Assembly.

According to him, the Jet requires over 2.1 million dollars in annual upkeep.

STARDY Mwale, a former defense permanent secretary, was detained by the anti-corruption commission in the meantime for wrongdoing involving 579 million dollars in connection with the purchase of the Gulfstream Presidential plane.
