Nigerian poll: Obi intends to contest Tinubu’s victory

The Bola Tinubu of the ruling APC triumph in the presidential election will be challenged in court by Nigeria’s opposition Labour Party.

Peter Obi, a Labour candidate, finished third on Saturday.

The opposition claims that the results were manipulated and is demanding for new elections.

Just 28% of Nigeria’s eligible voters cast ballots. Several people were unable to vote because of broken machines.

With 37% of the vote, Mr. Tinubu won with a narrower margin of victory than earlier Nigerian presidents.

The voting process had serious flaws, according to European Union election observers, who also noted that vote-buying had occurred, though it was too soon to determine the extent of this.
